Jessica Lynch vs Shoshanna Johnson

Jessica Lynch was made out to be this all-American girl with blonde hair and blue eyes . All the elements of a 'Cinderella story.' I found it interesting how this white all-American girl was portrayed glamourously while the male POWs as well as Shoshanna Johnson took the backseat.

Some information on Jessica Lynch:
-1st rescued POW/MIA in operatation: Iraqi Freedom
-was an Army supply clerk
-"Real American hero"
-became an icon of the war
-Lynch rescued April 1, 2003

Unfortunately I cannot have a paragraph for just 'information on Shoshanna Johnson.' This is because believe it or not there isn't enough information about Shoshana Johnson to do that (and that is sad sad..) Even though Johnson and Lynch both recieved an award for "Women of the Year" at Glamour Magazine, more of the light was on Lynch. Perhaps it is because of her race? None of us know but the media definitely shines the main light on Jessica Lynch while Shoshanna fights for her moment of fame that will probably never come.

In fact, the media still keeps up-to-date on how Jessica Lynch is doing. Do you think anybody remembers Shoshanna? I doubt it.
